Ezra F. MillardMay 21, 2011 – January 6, 2025
It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ezra Millard, a vibrant and kind soul who was taken from us far too soon at the age of 13. Ezra passed away peacefully on January 6, 2025, in Leominster, Massachusetts, surrounded by love.
Ezra was born on May 21, 2011, and throughout his life, he radiated a unique and joyful energy that touched everyone he met. Though he was born Lilly, Ezra embraced his true self as Ezra, and his family and friends are honoring and celebrating that truth.
Ezra's passion for life was evident in everything he did. A gifted musician, he had recently received a bass guitar for Christmas and eagerly joined the school band. His love for music, which spanned the globe through online connections and friendships, was just one of the many ways he expressed his creativity. He was also a dedicated student, achieving straight A’s and serving on the leadership council. Ezra had dreams of attending an art and music-based high school, where he could further explore his talents.
An old soul and a best friend to those who knew him, Ezra was remarkable in his kindness and ability to make connections. Whether it was through his love of roller derby, arts and crafts, or his eclectic and bold fashion choices, Ezra’s light shone brightly. He made friends wherever he went, and his confidence in his uniqueness was truly inspiring. Ezra's spirit was that of someone far beyond his years, and those who knew him cherished his humor, creativity, and generosity.
Ezra is survived by his devoted mother, Melissa Wilson; his loving father, John Millard; his sister, Emma Wilson; his brother, Tyler Wilson; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who all loved him dearly.
A service in Ezra’s memory will be held at Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Road, Fitchburg, MA, on Saturday, January 11th, 2025. Doors will open at 2:00 p.m. for receiving, and the service will begin at 3:00 p.m.
While Ezra is no longer with us, his impact, love, and light will live on forever. He will be deeply missed, but never forgotten. We will always remember him as the coolest, most incredible kid—someone who taught us all what it means to be unapologetically true to oneself.
In lieu of flowers please make a memorial contribution in Ezra's name to the New England Junior Roller Derby League. Http://www.givebutter.com/GoNEJRD
