The funeral will be held from Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Rd., Fitchburg on Wednesday, March 14, with a Mass in St. Joseph Church at 11:30am. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday morning from 9-11am in the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to a charity of one’s choice.
Fitchburg – Everett J. McNamara, 86, of Fitchburg, passed away peacefully at home on March 8, 2018.
Everett was born in Clinton on August 6, 1931, a son of the late Martin and Alice (Hutchins) McNamara. He graduated from Clinton High School and later enlisted in the U.S. Army, where he proudly served his country during the Korean War.
For 27 years, Everett worked as a book printer for Colonial Press in Clinton, he then began his own successful business, E.M. Offset Printing. He also worked for the City of Fitchburg Public Works in the Water Department for 14 years, retiring in 1992.
Everett was an avid gardener and passionate about model trains. He loved traveling, camping, and was his happiest spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Claire (Caron) McNamara of Fitchburg; four sons, James McNamara and wife Tricia of Fitchburg, Everett Peter and wife Margaret of Alameda, CA, David McNamara, Paul McNamara and wife Dianna, all of Fitchburg; three daughters, Caron Kane and husband Robert, and Beth McNamara, all of Fitchburg, Pamela Raymond and husband Scott of Westminster; grandchildren, Bradley McNamara and wife Erica of Lunenburg, Kayla McNamara and partner Eldred Wright, Haley and Paige McNamara, all of Fitchburg, Megan and Monica McNamara of Alameda, CA, Zachary and Ryan Kane of Fitchburg, Allie, Courtney, and Owen Raymond of Westminster; one great grandchild MaKenna Wright of Fitchburg; siblings, Phyllis Mitchell from Alabama, Thomas McNamara and wife Arlene, Raymond McNamara and wife Josephine, Jane Morano, all of Clinton, and Alice Scraggs of Sterling; many nieces and nephews.
Everett was predeceased by his brother Martin H. McNamara, III in 2016.
