Calling hours will be held in Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Rd., Fitchburg on Monday, September 25 from 9-10:30 am. A funeral Mass will be celebrated in Saint Joseph Church, 49 Woodland St., at 11:00am. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
OBITUARY
Fitchburg – Ernest Gaudet, 83, of Fitchburg, passed away on September 20, 2017 in UMass Medical Center in Worcester after a brief illness.
Ernest was born in Fitchburg on April 15, 1934, a son of the late Philip and Madelyn (LeBlanc) Gaudet. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War, until his honorable discharge in 1955. Ernest worked for the James River Paper Company in Fitchburg for 35 years, and for the Hollingsworth and Vorse in Groton for five years until his retirement.
Ernest was a parishioner of Saint Joseph Church in Fitchburg and a member of the American Legion. He loved to spend time outdoors and tend to his garden.
He leaves his wife of over 60 years, Claudette (Belliveau) Gaudet of Fitchburg; daughter Marie Gaudet and her husband Kevin Oxford of Ashburnham; two grandchildren, Mordrianna and River Gaudet-Oxford; a brother, Philip Gaudet of Fitchburg.
Ernest was predeceased by his sister Lorraine Guichard.
