The funeral will be held Thursday, February 19, from Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Rd., with a Mass at 10:00 AM in Saint Anthony di Padua Church, 84 Salem St. Burial will be in Saint Bernard’s Cemetery. Calling hours are Wednesday, February 18, from 4-7 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Saint Anthony di Padua Church, 84 Salem St., Fitchburg, MA 01420



Emanuel ‘Pag’ Pagnotto Retired Fitchburg Firefighter; Vet; 91 

Emanuel “Pag” Pagnotto, 91, passed away suddenly, Friday, February 13, 2015, in Leominster HealthAlliance Hospital, surrounded by his four loving daughters.

He was born April 26, 1923 in Leominster, the son of Rocco and Sylvia (Occhipinti) Pagnotto. He was a 1941 graduate of Leominster High School where he was a standout athlete in basketball and football, scoring the winning touchdown during the 1940 season rivalry between Fitchburg and Leominster.

He was a Navy Veteran who served as a torpedoman during WWII.

Pag was a Fitchburg Firefighter for 27 years on Ladder No. 3 and Engine 4, retiring as a Lieutenant. In addition, he established his own oil burner service company. He owned Pagnotto Real Estate in Fitchburg for many years, and also worked for Champa Realty. He loved to play cards, and was an avid golfer and longtime member of Monoosnoc Country Club. He was a member of the Massachusetts Firefighter’s Association, St. Anthony di Padua Church, ITAM War Veterans and was a past President of the Fitchburg Sons of Italy.

His wife, Louise J. (Scopelliti) Pagnotto passed away September 23, 2014. He leaves his daughters, Donna Fricas and her husband, John of Fairfax, VA, Patricia Deslauriers of Lunenburg, Diane Hill and husband, David of Lunenburg, Nancy Johnson and husband, Douglas of Leominster; grandchildren, Jennifer Fricas, Jamison Deslauriers and wife, Anna, Katie Fricas, Ashley Hill, Christopher Hill, and Samuel Johnson; his great-granddaughter, Eve Autumn Louise Deslauriers; his brother, Phillip Pagnotta of Fitchburg; two sisters, Agnes Clear of Lancaster and Victoria Mandarano of Gardner; and many nieces and nephews.
