Lunenburg- Elvie A. (Blanchard) Ferguson, 90, of Lunenburg, passed away Monday March 23, 2015 at Keystone Nursing Home. She was born October 19, 1924 in Fitchburg to Frank A. Blanchard (1896-1979) and Bertha L. Perry (1896-1984). Elvie was married to her beloved husband John Ferguson for 68 years. She is survived by her husband John E. Ferguson, her children Judith Brennan (Fitch.MA), John Ferguson Jr. (Lunen. MA), Linda Fritz (Clearfield UT), Sandra Ferguson (Lunen.MA), Kennith Ferguson (Fitch.MA), Janice Myers (Fitch.MA), Mark Ferguson (Lunen.MA), Nancy Ferguson (Lunen.MA), Her grandchildren Bill Brennan (Warren RI), Kimberly Brennan (Fitch.MA), Matthew Fritz (Clinton UT), Jennifer Fritz (Layton UT), Joseph Myers (Fitch.MA), Michael Myers (Lunen.MA), Lisa Greene (Fitch.MA), Kimberly Greene (Holden MA), Mary-Kate Myers (Fitch.MA), Her sister Carolyn Jokinen (Clinton MA) 11 great grandchildren and Blackie. Elvie was predeceased by her brothers Frank Blanchard (1920-2006) and Carl Blanchard (1928-2014) as well as her son William Ferguson (4/30/2013).  Elvie Ferguson was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. For those that knew her they knew how wonderful of a woman she really was. She was stubborn yet loving, strong but caring, opinionated yet understanding. She loved her family whole heartedly and showed it in many ways, whether it be with her knitted socks, her potato salad, or her warm embrace. No one ever questioned her love of family or her crossword puzzles. The world has truly suffered a great loss but her memory will live on forever in our hearts. To her grandchildren she was a role model, a best friend, an inspiration, a cheerleader, and the best grandmother anyone could ask for. It is with heavy hearts we say goodbye but we will never let go and never forget. She was cherished by many yet loved by more, always and forever one of the strongest people the world will ever know.
