A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday morning at 11 o’clock at Our Lady of the Lake in Leominster with burial to follow at St Michael’s cemetery in Hudson.

Elizabeth “Betty” A. (Shinners) Schwall, 91, of Leominster, MA died Saturday surrounded by her loving family. Born in Lowell, MA, she was the daughter of Arthur and Bertha (Allen) Shinners. After losing her mother at the age of 1, she was raised by her father and grandmother, Maude (Brown) Shinners. A graduate of Keith Hall in Lowell and Aviation Training School of Boston, Betty’s early years were spent working at the LaGuardia airport in New York. Betty’s priorities in life revolved around her family, sharing herself with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom she adored.
She was an active member of community youth activities as her children were growing up involving herself in campfire girls, Pop Warner football, and girls clubs. Betty was a member of the Guild of Our Lady of the Lake parish where she served as historian for over 25 years.
Betty was the loving wife of Walter “Larry” Schwall for 37 years prior to his passing in 1991. She is survived by her 6 children: Arthur Schwall, Linda Davis, Elizabeth Bleau, Laura Lively, Walter Schwall, and Darlene Franco and her husband Lou; 16 grandchildren: Cory, Jenna, Colby, Megan and her husband Adam, Shelby, Michelle, Sara and her husband Doug, Brianna and her husband Jason, Anthony and his wife Christina, Taylor, Mary and her fiancé Lucas, Montanna, Jonathan, Matthew, Nicolas and Benjamin; 18 great-grandchildren: Jayden, Lana, Alexis, Haley, Lilliana, Samuel, Autumn, Riley, Aiden, Eli, Randy, Alan, Charlie, Julia, Rosie, Penelope, Victoria and Leo; Sister-in-law, Barbara Jones; brothers-in-law Daniel Jones and William Jones; and many cousins.
She was predeceased by her daughter-in-law, Margaret Schwall (wife of Arthur) and Sisters-in-law, Margaret Leonard and Helen Neff.
