A private burial service will be held for the immediate family.

OBITUARY
Fitchburg – Eleanor R. (Powers) Witham, entered into eternal peace on May 21, 2016 at the age of 99.
Eleanor was born in Beverly, Mass on December 20, 1916 and was a member of East Bridgewater High School class of 1935. She graduated from Elizabeth General Hospital and Dispensary School of Nursing 1939. Eleanor married the love of her life, Matthew Mazza on June 21, 1942. She was a longtime resident of Leominster, Mass and spent many joyful summers at Lake Winnipesaukee in NH. Eleanor loved flowers, books, manicures, and feeding people her delicious dishes. She was a faithful member of Beth Eden Baptist Church in Fitchburg.
Eleanor will be lovingly remembered by her surviving family; children, Nancy Bowditch and her husband Thomas, and Mark Mazza and his wife Dawn; grandchildren, Kimberly St. Onge and her husband Daniel, Julie Bowditch-Martin and her husband Michael, Andrew, Todd, Jordan and Alaina Bowditch, David Mazza and his wife Kerri, Matthew Mazza and his wife Rebecca, Hannah Harvey and her husband Samuel, and Samuel Mazza; great grandchildren, Thomas St. Onge and Elaina, Maria and Diana Mazza. She will also be missed greatly by her ‘California Family”, whom she adored. She is now happily reunited with her daughter who died in infancy, her first husband Matthew Mazza, second husband Louis Witham, beloved sister Dorothy McGunnigle, and grandchildren, Bethany Bowditch and Cody Mazza, along with many dear friends.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the staff of the Highlands Nursing Home for their thoughtful care.
