Eleanor Hoskins Eckstein

Eleanor Hoskins, 87, passed away December 29, 2022.

She was born on June 30th, 1935 in Fitchburg MA to Paul Erwin and Elsbeth (Hermann) Eckstein. Eleanor proudly served her country in the United States Navy. Eleanor was an apple packer for Marshall Farms many years ago and later an inspector for the civil service and in charge of coordination of military personnel and moving services. She was a member of Christ Church and a former member of Trinity Congregational Church in Fitchburg. Eleanor enjoyed reading and puzzles and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Eleanor is survived by her sons, John and his wife Patricia of Tucson AZ, and Robert of Newburyport MA, her daughters, Karen Brousseau and her husband Gary of Fitchburg, and Deborah and Wendy of Fitchburg, four grandchildren, Timothy and wife MaryEllen of Framingham, Jason and wife Shannon of Templeton, Erik and wife Ranya of San Diego CA, and Joseph of San Diego CA, and four great grandchildren, Avianna, Milana, Nolan, and Waylon. Another great granddaughter is due in May. Eleanor was preceded in death by her brother Alfred Eckstein and her daughter in law, Karen Hoskins.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 AM on Monday January 9, 2023 with a visitation starting at 10:30 at Brandon Funeral, 305 Wanoosnoc Rd, Fitchburg MA. Burial will follow at The Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Winchendon, MA.
