The funeral will be held Wednesday, April 15, 2015 from Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Rd. with a Mass at 10 am in St. Anthony di Padua Church, 84 Salem St. Calling hours are Tuesday from 4-7 pm. FITCHBURG – Eleanor “Ellie” H. (D’Amelio) Di Benedetto, passed away April 11, 2015 in Leominster Hospital.
She was born November 29, 1925 in Norwood, the daughter of Alfred and Theresa (Fontaine) D’Amelio.
Her husband of 58 years, Michael “Slick” A. DiBenedetto died in 2010. She leaves three sons, Michael DiBenedetto and Paul DiBenedetto both of Fitchburg and James DiBenedetto and his wife, Rowena, of Fishkill, NY , two daughters, Lisa Crawley and her husband, John, of Fitchburg and Mary Jane Allain and her husband, Tom, of Leominster, a brother, Anthony D’Amelio of Franklin, two sisters, Mary Ferioli of Franklin and Josephine Coughlin of Brighton and 12 grandchildren, Ariana, Ashley, Katie, Alyssa, Jillian, Sarah, Amber, Allison, Johnnie, Jake, Nick and Rocco. She was predeceased by two brothers, Joseph D’Amelio and Alfred D’Amelio, Jr. and two sisters, Jeanne D’Amelio and Gloria Cashorelli.
Ellie worked as a teacher’s aide at St. Anthony’s Elementary School and previously worked at Stuart’s Department Store in Fitchburg for many years.
