Doris Mary Hosley

December 18, 1926 — March 4, 2025

Fitchburg

Doris Mary (Leblanc) Hosley, affectionately known as “Nana” or “Grandma” to those who held her dear, passed away peacefully on March 4th, 2025. Born on December 18th, 1926, in Fitchburg, MA, Doris lived a life defined by her congenial nature, her resilient spirit, and helped her family when needed. Her family was her world, and she always was there with a warm smile.

In her 98 years, Doris filled her time with simple pleasures that brought her joy. She loved being celebrated at birthdays and receiving gifts from her large family. Holidays were especially important and being taken on a trip or two in the summer to the beach or White Mountains. Her devotion to her family was unwavering, and her generosity knew no bounds. She helped care for her grandchildren when they were young and was a woman of great faith- a devoted Catholic who found strength and solace in her beliefs. Her hobbies, such as watching Wheel of Fortune, doing word searches, and spending time outdoors, were avenues through which she expressed her joy of life. She was a regular face at the Fitchburg Senior Center, where she enjoyed the camaraderie and community spirit.

Doris was preceded in death by her husband Robert I. Hosley and her son David Hosley, along with her parents, Arthur and Edna Leblanc (Boudreau). Survived by her children, Douglas, Garry, Donald, Darlene Morrell and her husband Carl, Pamela Hosley and her husband Randy Simoneau, Susan Manson, Sally and her life-partner Glenn Fossa, and Debra Ugur and her husband Irfan. Doris's legacy lives on in the lives of her 65 grand and great-grandchildren, and the generations to come. As George Bernard Shaw once wrote “A happy family is but an early heaven”. Doris not only sustained herself with family love, but she always remembered everyone’s birthdays, and other important family milestones. Doris was also predeceased by all of her siblings, Dorilla Richard (Leblanc), Helen Crand (Leblanc), Dorothy Incutto (Leblanc), Roland Leblanc, Joseph (Willie) Leblanc.
