A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am Friday, March 17 in St. Joseph’s Church, 49 Woodland St., Fitchburg. Burial will be in the spring in St. Joseph’s parish cemetery. There are no calling hours.

Fitchburg- Donald N. Thibault, 86, loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather passed away Friday, March 10 at The Highlands.Mr. Thibault was born on January 1, 1931 a son of the late Cleophas and Leontine (Croteau) Thibault and has resided in Fitchburg his entire life.He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Jeanne R. (Charette) Thibault of Fitchburg, three sons, James Thibault of Shirley and his longtime companion Jane LeBlanc, John Thibault and his wife Elaine of Chelmsford, Alan Thibault and his wife Denise of Las Vegas, one daughter, Laurie Derderian and her husband Todd of Leominster, one brother, Robert Thibault of Gardner, two sisters, Jeanne Jakanowski of Leominster, Yvonne St. Jean of Fitchburg, seven grandchildren, Cynthia McMillan, Susan Brunelle, Erica Derderian, Derek Derderian, Melissa Fitzgerald, Travis Artist, Shawn Artist, Six great grandchildren, Sadie, Brodie, Julie, Colten, Adeline, Tyler. And many nieces and nephews.Mr. Thibault was formerly employed as an administrator for the Bay Path Technical School in Charleton. Prior to that he was employed at Montachusett Regional Vocational Technical School in Fitchburg as a welding instructor. He had also worked for many years at Weyerhauser Paper in Fitchburg.Mr. Thibault was an avid Patriots and Bruins fan and he also enjoyed camping for many years. He was a scout master of troop 17 at St. Joseph Parish for ten years. His hobby was mastering jigsaw puzzles.
