Diane L. Cross

January 30, 1960 — February 5, 2024

Leominster, MA

With a spirit that was as compassionate and empathetic as it was resilient, Diane Lee Cross, born on January 30, 1960, in Boston, Massachusetts, lived a life of love, laughter, and adventure. "A good laugh is sunshine in the house," as an old proverb goes, and anyone who knew Diane knew that her sense of humor, her funny antics, and her infectious laughter were the sunshine in every room she entered. Diane passed away peacefully on February 5, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, strength, and the ability to find joy in the simplest things of life.

Diane spent her professional years as a Computer Analyst, a career that demonstrated her sharp intellect and problem-solving skills. But it was her passions outside the office that truly displayed her vibrant spirit. Diane had a particular fondness for music, camping and traveling, and she had a charming hobby of collecting antique cars. She was a beloved member of The Owls Club (a family club), where her sociable nature and warm personality earned her many hoots. Diane's love for cats was well-known among those close to her, and her cookouts were legendary amongst her family and friends.

She spoke and lived with a wide open heart impacting countless lives on her earthly journey.  She is survived by her life partner Jamie Fiffy, her brother David Roche, her sister Donna L. Roche-Turla and her cats Elwood, Jake, and Betty Sue.  She was widowed by her beloved husband, Stanley R. “Skip” Cross, and preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Barbara Roche, meowlso Cruiser and Lucy.  Diane's radiant smile, her spirit, and her love will be deeply missed, but the memories she left behind will continue to inspire all who knew her.

In the words of Emily Dickinson, "Unable are the loved to die, for love is immortality." Diane's love, her compassion, and her resilience will forever live on in the hearts of those she touched. We invite everyone who knew Diane to share their memories and photos on her memorial page, celebrating her life and the love she spread in the world.
