With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Dennis Leon Plante (71), a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather, who left us on January 11, 2024. Born in Lowell, Massachusetts, on May 16, 1952, Dennis was a beacon of warmth and love who touched the lives of all who knew him.
Dennis was a lover of all things nature, but was happiest at the beach. He spent many memorable summers in Ocean Park, Maine with his family. Most of all, Dennis enjoyed spending time with his precious grandchildren, who love and miss him dearly.
Dennis was a wonderful man of many talents and accomplishments. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to start a career with Union Products in Leominster, Massachusetts, in 1978. His commitment and drive saw him rise to become co-owner in 1996 and eventually became sole owner until 2007. He and his wife, Gail, also owned and operated a childcare center, Academy For Little People, in Leominster, MA, from 2011 to 2021. Dennis's passion for service extended to his work at Leominster Housing in 2010, until his retirement in 2022. Dennis's love for his beloved silky terriers was a testament to his gentle nature, and he dutifully served as treasurer for the Silky Terrier Kennel Club of America. His dedication to his community was evident in his active participation in the Fitchburg Church of the Nazarene for 38 years, holding various board positions.
Dennis's legacy will live on through his loved ones. He is survived by his loving wife, Gail (Jasinski) Plante, his sons Andrew, Gregory, and Justin Plante, his daughter-in-law, Amy Plante, and his cherished grandchildren: Jacob, Jacqueline, Jack, Alexander, Alison, Zoe, and Julian. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Norma (Burt) Plante, and his siblings Paul, Deborah, and Norman Plante.
A visitation will be held on Monday, January 22, 2024, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Road, Fitchburg, Massachusetts. A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, January 23, 2024, at 11:00 am at the Fitchburg Church of the Nazarene, 800 South Street, Fitchburg, Massachusetts.
