Denis J. Richard

Denis J. Richard, age 70, a resident of Worcester, MA, passed away peacefully on May 9, 2023 surrounded by family.

Denis (Ti-Boy to his family) was born in Leominster, MA on July 1, 1952 to the late Arcade and Claire (Belliveau) Richard. He was a lifelong resident of Leominster until moving to a Worcester nursing home in 2005 following a debilitating stroke. He graduated from St. Bernard's High School in Fitchburg, MA in 1971, where he was active in tennis and golf. Denis worked at Digital Corp for over 20 years at various locations before becoming a self-employed painter. Earlier in his life, he socially worked for Bourbeau’s Market in Leominster for many years.

Denis was an avid golfer, skier, and loved fishing - very much an outdoorsman. When he wasn’t outside, you could often find him playing cribbage and other card games. He also coordinated numerous golf tournaments over the years. Music was another passion of his; he thoroughly enjoyed going to Rock & Roll and Blues concerts.

Denis is predeceased by his parents Arcade and Claire (Belliveau) Richard. He is survived by his children Kim Richard-O’Brien and husband David of Arlington, Jeffrey Richard and wife Genie-Rae of Leominster, and Brian Richard and wife Lori of Marshfield. He also leaves behind his brothers Laurie Richard of Westminster, Joseph Richard (wife Patty), and Francis Richard (wife Rachel) of Leominster, and his sisters Louise Redfield (husband Bill) of Chatham, Diane Kelliher (husband Ed) of Ashby, Terry Risotti (husband Angie, deceased), Pauline Roberge (husband John, deceased), and Rita Sheridan-Chartrand (husband Richard) of Leominster, MA. He will be deeply missed by his loving grandchildren, Annabelle and Lexie O’Brien, Domenic, Owen, Parker and Brinley Richard. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, sadly predeceased by two.

Family and friends will gather to honor and remember Denis for a period of visitation on Monday, May 15, 2023, at Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Rd. Fitchburg, MA, from 5:00PM until 7:00PM. A mass will be celebrated for Denis on Tuesday, May 16, 2023, at St. Cecilia Parish, 180 Mechanic St, Leominster, MA at 10:00AM. Burial will follow mass at the St. Cecilia Cemetery, 99 St Cecilia St, Leominster, MA.
