Darrin (Dee) Wayne Hellijas of Fitchburg, 54 passed away on November 8, peacefully with his wife by his side after a long illness. Darrin was born in Cobleskill, NY on August 19, 1968 to Wayne & Phyllis (Madden) Hellijas. Darrin graduated in 1986 from Leominster High School, . He attended Rhode Island Technical Institute. He worked for over 30 years for the various companies that occupied the building in Leominster that is most recently named Uspack where he was responsible for making and producing all of their products. He was the heart and soul of the company.
He was a member of The Franco American Club, The Eagles #477 and The Eagle Riders. In his younger days he played on various pool and dart teams. He enjoyed and looked forward to all of the golf tournaments at the Franco, especially with his dad.
One of Darrin’s greatest pleasures was spending time with his family. His 2 favorite seasons were summer and fall. He looked forward to family gatherings, cookouts and night fires with both family and friends. Motorcycle rides and relaxing on the porch. He enjoyed spending time with the guys working or just hanging out. One of his fondest memories was attending the Barrett Jackson show with his father in law John. Darrin and Angie spent over 21 years together they enjoyed long rides, movies, playing cards, camping trips, car shows, quiet times together, Angie always looked forward to Darrin’s surprise trips to the (woods) for time together, they enjoyed each other so much they even rode to work together.
Darrin survived his wife Angelina, his son’s Jeremy & Nancy, Jason & Saige, Joey & Niki and Cody. His step son’s John & Billy. His grandchildren Sophia, John, William, Jayden, Jaycob and Eli. His mother Phyllis, brother Kevin & Tracy, sister Michelle & John and several nieces and nephews, his godson Dylan, Mike that was like a son, and his longtime friend, Rob. Darrin was predeceased by his dad Wayne in 2020 and his good friend Aaron in 2019.
Darrin was always there to lend a hand to anyone and everyone, he will be greatly missed, he was truly a good soul gone to soon, we love him
