Cynthia Ann Bataitis, age 73, of Fitchburg, MA, passed away peacefully on September 25, 2023 after a brief illness. She was the daughter of the late John and Ethel Bataitis Sr. of Townsend, MA.

Born on February 19, 1950 in Methuen, MA. She is a 1968 graduate of North Middlesex Regional High School, Townsend, MA. She had earned her Bachelors degree in 1972 and went on to earn two Masters Degrees from Fitchburg State University.

Cindy was an avid love of the Arts. She performed in the College concert Band and Chorus European Tour in 1971, visiting and performing in Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Holland and France. She also spent five summers at Sherwood Forest Theatre in Murrysville, PA, as assistant theatre manager and co-founder of the Children's Theatre, Center for Small Friars.

Cindy was also an art and elementary school teacher in the North Middlesex District for over 30 years.

Cindy has always been passionate about dog rescue- she was a volunteer at A.C.E. (Animal Care Education) Animal Shelter in Fitchburg, MA.

Cindy was well known for all of the inspiring scrapbook greeting books that she creates for people. This was a real joy for her.

Cindy is survived by her brother John “Skip” Bataitis Jr. and his wife the late Louise Bataitis, and their daughter Mary Bataitis, and her daughter Charlie Rose. She is also survived by her sister Linda Hewitt and her husband George “Tookey” Hewitt of Townsend, MA. Her nephew Michael Hewitt, his wife Melinda and their son Sam and their daughter Lily of Merrimack, NH. Her niece Jennifer Hewitt Jardim and her husband Manoel and their son Alex, and their daughter Gabriella of Holden, MA. Cindy is also survived by their respective family dogs.
