Charles H. Hillman

Visiting hours for family and friends will be held at Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Road, Fitchburg on Thursday, January 19, from 4-7pm. A private graveside service will take place this Spring. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to the Kevin T. Sczoick Scholarship Fund, 40 Turkey Hill Road, Lunenburg MA 01462.



Charles H. “Buzz” Hillman of Lunenburg, died on January 15. Buzz was the husband of the late Dorothy Ann “Dot” (Jacobsen) Hillman who died in 1997. He is survived by two sons, Timothy Hillman of Fitchburg and Rick Hillman of Monroe, Maine. Their middle son Michael Hillman predeceased them in 1970. He is also survived by six grandchildren; Brandy Fencher of Worcester, Joshua Hillman of Lunenburg, Zak Hillman of Somerville, Molly Hillman of Fitchburg, Patrick Hillman of Lunenburg, and Nathan Hillman of Monroe, Maine, and four great grandchildren, Jayden, Vivienne, Max, and Zachary Robert. He is also survived by his later life partner and companion Joan Damon of Nashua, NH. Buzz was a proud WWII naval combat veteran who served in the Atlantic and Pacific theatres. In his later years, he enjoyed recounting his naval experiences. He loved golf and was the longest tenured member of Oak Hill Country Club where he was a past president. On his 78th birthday he shot a 77, and was known for his iron play and occasional strong language. Buzz was an engineer and founder of DE Corp., of Leominster, which is now owned and run by his son, Rick. He was active in Lunenburg civic affairs and served on the Town of Lunenburg Finance Committee, School Building Committee, and the Lunenburg Scholarship Fund.
