Cecile (Maillet) LeBlanc – Loving mother and hairdresser

Cecile (Maillet) LeBlanc, 83, a lifetime resident of Fitchburg, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on Wednesday, December 30, 2015, at HealthAlliance Hospital, Leominster.

Born in Fitchburg on September 28, 1932, Cecile was a beloved daughter of the late Dosithe and Emma (Gallant) Maillet. Cecile went to Henri’s School of Hair Design, Fitchburg, to become a hairdresser. After a few years of service at different beauty salons, in 1963 she opened her own salon in her home on Sanborn Street where up until recently she was styling hair for longtime clients.  She was a member of Sacred Heart Church and later St. Anthony di Padua Catholic Church, both of Fitchburg.  She will be greatly missed by all those who knew her. She leaves her children, Michael and wife Bonnie, Phyllis “Tiny” Arsenault and husband Scott, Donald and Ronald. She also leaves her grandchildren Jennifer Rameau, Christopher Rameau and his wife Rhonda, Jonathan LeBlanc, Emily and Lauren LeBlanc, great grandchildren Timothy Pierce and his wife Rebecca, Mackenzie Daley, Kayla and Dasia Rameau, Christian Booth, Silas and Remy LeBlanc, all who loved her immensely.  She leaves her brothers, Francis E.  Maillet of Fitchburg, Armand J. Maillet and wife Sue of Florida, her sister in law Mary Maillet and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Cecile loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren dearly.  She loved traveling, especially near the ocean, and spent much time in Rockport, Newport, R.I. and Cape Cod.  She made frequent trips to Canada to visit with her relatives in Sherbrooke, New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island. She had fond memories of travels with friends and family to Ireland, Hawaii, and the National Parks and visited Disney World several times.  Cecile was an avid reader, loved to knit and crochet and was happiest visiting with friends and family. Those that knew her will remember her warm, welcoming attitude, compassionate spirit and kind heart.

She was preceded in death by her brothers Delcy and Leo Maillet and her sister Rita Maillet.
