The funeral Mass will be held in Saint Bernard’s Parish at Saint Camillus Church, 333 Mechanic St., on Friday, May 15 at 10am. Burial will follow in Saint Bernard’s Cemetery. There are no calling hours. Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Rd., Fitchburg is assisting the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers the family request that memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 480 Pleasant Street, Watertown, MA 02472.



OBITUARY Fitchburg- Catherine (Craigen) Grier, 90, of Fitchburg, passed away Wednesday, May 6, in the Highlands. Catherine was born in Fitchburg on August 9, 1924, a daughter of the late Patrick and Helen (Murphy) Craigen. She was a 1942 graduate of Saint Bernard’s Catholic High School. For many years Catherine was employed by the John Hancock Company until her retirement. She was a true woman of faith who always put the welfare of others before her own. Catherine loved her church and family; the Grier home was always a warm and safe haven for many. Her interests were many, including; gardening, traveling, reading, and cooking. She leaves her children, Kevin Grier and his wife Paula, Maureen McSheehy and husband William, Karen Powers and her husband Roy, all of Fitchburg; grandchildren, Keith, Shawn, Margaret, Jeremy, Ryan, Devin, Katie, and Brendan; 12 great grandchildren; sisters, Isabelle Plante of Shrewsbury and Mary Shea of Miami. Catherine was predeceased by her husband Donald Grier; son, Thomas Grier; a grandchild and a great grandchild.
