Carolyn A. Kamunde

December 7, 1963 — February 17, 2024

Fitchburg, MA

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the peaceful transition of Carolyn Kamunde, affectionately known as Sis and My Love, who left us on February 17, 2024. Born on December 7, 1963, in Phillipsburg, NJ, Carolyn was a charismatic figure whose compassionate heart touched many lives during her time.

Carolyn was the epitome of courage and humility, a beacon of hope in the often stormy sea of life. She dedicated her professional life to social services, where she served as a supervisor until her retirement. Carolyn's love for people was evident in her work, where she embodied the quote "The purpose of life is not to be happy. It is to be useful, to be honorable, to be compassionate, to have it make some difference that you have lived and lived well" by Ralph Waldo Emerson. Her laughter was contagious, her sense of humor unparalleled, and her love for caregiving defined her. Carolyn's hobbies included crocheting, cooking, and gardening, further showcasing her nurturing spirit. One of her greatest joys was working with children. She worked at LUK Inc. for many years, as a supervisor. Carolyn also fostered Thomas Sheldon.

Carolyn is survived by her beloved husband, Charles Kamunde, with whom she celebrated their 14th wedding anniversary on February 13, 2024. She also leaves behind her siblings David Eisley, Laura Labarre, Rose Ombati, and Ruby Kelley,  as well as her uncle Dick Hummer and cousin Richard Hummer, her aunt Pauline Rush, her son John Jr., and her grandchildren Paisley and Dallas Steuber. She joins her parents, Carolyn and David Eisley, in eternal rest.

Carolyn's life was a testament to the power of love, kindness, and resilience. Her memory will be a comforting beacon for all who knew her. We invite you to share your memories and upload photos to Carolyn's memorial page, as we continue to celebrate her extraordinary life and the legacy she leaves behind.

A calling hours service will be held for Carolyn on Saturday, March 2, 2024, at 3:00pm until 5:00PM at the Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Road, Fitchburg, Massachusetts, 01420. This will be followed by a funeral service at 5:00pm at the same location. A celebration of life will take place in New Jersey on March 9, 2024.
