Calling hours are Friday, December 16th from 4-7 at the Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Rd., Fitchburg, MA. A celebration of life will be held at the Oak Hill Country Club, 840 Oak Hill Rd, Fitchburg, MA on Saturday, December 17, at 11:00am. All are welcome to attend. A private burial will be scheduled at a later date
Carlotta Yvette (Reed) Vachon of Westminster, 54, passed away unexpectedly on November 4, 2022 while on vacation in Houston, TX. Carlotta was born in Jersey City, NJ on May 8, 1968, to Cora and Clifford Reed and was raised by her maternal grandparents Ursula (Malchow) and Perison Goodson in Fitchburg, MA. She graduated from Fitchburg HS in 1986, Fitchburg State College in 1990 with her BS in Nursing and received her Master of Science – Adult Acute – Critical Care Nurse Practitioner with a Cardiovascular subspecialty from University of Massachusetts in Worcester in 2002. Carlotta worked across the state of Massachusetts as a hospitalist and APRN with her most recent position at Medically Home in Boston providing acute medical care at her patient’s homes.
Carlotta is survived by her loving husband Randy and her beloved son Curtiss of Westminster, MA. Half siblings Rick and Chris Reed and step siblings Robert Flores, Frank Flores, and Gina Williams. Her father Clifford Reed, grandfather Abner Reed and her uncle Douglas Reed and aunt Kim. She was a treasured daughter-in-law, sister-in-law, aunt, niece, cousin, and a trusted friend and co-worker to many.
Carlotta was a loud and proud hockey, basketball, and lacrosse Mom. A talented quilter and crafter, a great baker, and the life of the party. She ran several half-marathons and 10Ks and recently took up sailing. Carlotta was known for her quick wit, endless energy, bubbly personality, funny stories, and silly laugh. She was a member of the Material Girls Quilt Guild and loved her quilting friends.
She is preceded in death by her mother Cora Reed and her maternal grandparents Ursula (Malchow) and Perison Goodson of Fitchburg, MA and paternal grandmother Gloria Reed, of Jersey City, NJ.
