At her request there are no calling hours. Funeral Mass will be held in Saint Bernard’s Parish at Saint Camillus Church, 333 Mechanic St., Fitchburg on Friday, December 7, at 11am. Burial will follow in Saint Bernard’s Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to Saint Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 Saint Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

Fitchburg – Beatrice Margaret “Margot” (Clifford) Cunningham passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 2, 2018. Her husband of 55 years, Robert H. “Bucky” Cunningham III, died on August 14, 2013.
She leaves two sons, Robert H. Cunningham, IV and his wife Aaran of Gardner, Marc C. Cunningham of Fitchburg and a daughter, Heidi M. Larkins and her husband Gregory of Juno Beach, FL; three granddaughters, Rebecca Guy and her husband Abraham of Rochdale, Courtney Smith and her husband Bradley of Ayer and Tiffany Cunningham of Cocoa Beach, FL. Many nieces and nephews, cousins and very dear lifelong friends and neighbors.
Margot was a 1957 graduate of St. Bernard’s Central Catholic High School. She was employed at Independent Lock throughout high school. She learned invisible mending of fabrics, working at Williams Weaving in Fitchburg. She was passionate about arts & crafts and restoring her family home. She taught adult evening classes – sewing, decoupage, and various other crafts. She went on to work at the former Holly Berry Gift Store in Leominster before her retirement. She was a longtime member of St. Bernard Parish in Fitchburg.
She loved spending her summer days and long winter weekends in Maine. Her favorite holiday was St. Patrick’s Day; Traditionally celebrating her Irish heritage with her family friends, insisting on everyone wearing green, no exceptions allowed.
She was born in Fitchburg, MA on April 11, 1938, an only child of the late Sydney and Beatrice (L’Ecuyer) Clifford. Her mother Beatrice died shortly after her birth in 1938. Margot was the stepdaughter of the late Fanny Maki, respectively. She grew up in Townsend, MA and moved to Fitchburg in 1946. She lived and celebrated the rest of her life in Fitchburg, among family and close friends, with love, laughter, and true friendship. Her favorite motto was “If you make one close friend in your life, you are lucky enough.”
