Barbara Elizabeth Vanderlinden (Power), of Leominster, formerly of Waltham, left us on January 9, 2024. Born on May 11, 1944, in Dodge City, KS, Barbara's life was a testament to the power of love, loyalty, and family. She was a loving wife, a supportive mother, and a doting grandmother - a beacon of strength and kindness whose light touched everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Barbara dedicated her professional life to human resources as a meticulous bookkeeper for Epoch Senior Living for over 30 years. Before that, she was a Nurse’s Aide for many years at Weston Manor in Waltham. But her real passion lay in her family, to whom she offered unwavering support and love. Her loyalty was unwavering, her love, boundless. Those who knew Barbara were warmed by her loving smile, and softened by her tender, compassionate heart. Retired but never resting, Barbara filled her golden years with family moments, creating memories that now serve as a comforting blanket of love for those she left behind.
Barbara is survived by her loving husband of 40 years, Rusty Vanderlinden, her daughter, Jill Sacca and her husband Rob; her sons Darren Norman and Keith Vanderlinden. Cherished grandmother of Melissa Moulton and her husband Jimmy, Michael, Will, Alanna, Brady, Gracie, and Jack. Great-grandmother of Joey, Aubrie, Ryley, and little Jimmy. Loving sister of Bob Power and his wife Jane, John Power and his wife Ann, Brian Power and his wife Jenny, Nancy Calabro and her husband Dave and Tom Power and his wife Audrey. She is preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Doris Power, her son Glen Vanderlinden and brother Bill Power. Also survived by her daughter in law, Dianne Vanderlinden and many loving nieces and nephews. As we mourn Barbara's passing, we also celebrate her life, a life so beautifully lived, and a heart so generously given.
