A funeral service will be held at 4pm on Monday, March 19 in the Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Rd., Fitchburg. A visitation period will be from 3-4 pm prior to the service.

Barbara June Clarkson, 81, passed away on March 10, 2018. Barbara, a longtime resident of Fitchburg was born in Enterprise, Alabama in 1936.  She was a seamstress for 35 years before joining the Sentinel and Enterprise Newspaper where she retired in Jan. 2017 after 31 years of service. She was predeceased by sisters, Carolyn and  Ellawayne, and brother Dewey, all from Alabama, as well as husbands John Reeves, Robert Desmond Sr. and Robert Clarkson. She leaves behind her sister Betty and brothers James (Sonny) and Douglas, who reside in Alabama. She is survived by six children Linda Wymer (Reeves) of St. Thomas; Teresa Richards (Reeves), and her husband Tod, of Arizona; Robert Desmond Jr., and his wife Sheila of Florida; Irene Cordio (Desmond), and her husband Anthony of Gardner; William (Bill) Desmond, of Florida; and Elizabeth Weathers (Desmond), and her husband James, of Florida. She also leaves four step children, Douglas Clarkson of Florida; Vicki Settles (Clarkson), and her husband Geoff of Arizona; Robert Clarkson II, and his wife Karen of Ashby; and Sandra Hovey (Clarkson), and her husband James, of New York. Barbara has grandchildren Gregory, Rebecca, David, Melissa, Nathan, Brandon, Joshua, Christopher, Ashley, Kaylee, Ryan, Meghan, Andrew, Haley, Sierra, Larry, Zachary, Amanda, Christina, Jason, Amanda, Silas, and Rosie. Her great grandchildren are Kaeleigh, Aria, Teaghan, Jon, Annalise, Savannah, Wyatt, Stella, Azalie, and Lincoln.
