The funeral will be held Wednesday, March 18, from Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Rd. with a Mass at 10:00 am in St. Anthony di Padua Church, 84 Salem St. Burial is in St. Bernard’s Cemetery. FITCHBURG – Aurelio “Babe” Ruberti, 91, passed away Saturday, March 14, 2015 in the Golden Living Center.
He was born January 25, 1924, in Clinton, the son of James and Assunta (Diodati) Ruberti. He graduated from Fitchburg High School in 1942, where he played football. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran.
Babe was employed for many years by the Weyerhaeuser Paper and Fitchburg Paper Companies. He also was a currier for Safety Fund Bank and worked at Brandon Funeral Home for several years.
He was a member of St. Anthony di Padua Church, the Knights of Columbus, Friends of Coggshall Park and the Graniteers Club. He loved music and enjoyed dancing. He also liked woodworking and had travelled in Europe.
His wife of 59 years, Mary (DiBenedetto) Ruberti died in 2006. He leaves his son, James Ruberti and his wife, Marilyn, of Marblehead, his grandson, Peter Ruberti of Marblehead, his granddaughter, Alicia Ruberti of N. Babylon, NY, his brother, James S. Ruberti and his wife, Patricia, of Hyannis, his dear cousin, Charlotte Ruberti and many other cousins. He was predeceased by two brothers, Elvio and Silvio Ruberti and his sister, Christina Jankowski.
