Calling hours will be held in Redemption Rock Church, 3 Hager Park Rd., Westminster MA on Friday Jan. 7 from 4-7pm. Masks are required for those attending.

Anthony (Tony) D. Almeida, 62, of Leominster, MA, unexpectedly yet peacefully went to rejoice in the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on December 29, 2021.

Tony was born on September 13th, 1959, in Danvers, MA, to his loving parents Robert Almeida and the late Sally Wyatt. He was raised in Townsend, MA, with his siblings Robin Gospodarek and David Almeida, and graduated from North Middlesex Regional High School in 1977.  He was a lifetime member at Redemption Rock Church in Westminster, MA, where he devoted his life to the Lord and served in various ministries. He took pride in his work as a finish carpenter, some of which can be seen throughout his church and in many homes of friends and family.

Aside from his work, his biggest pleasure in life was spending time with his family. He enjoyed camping in the White Mountains, attending his children’s and grandchildren’s dance recitals, baseball games, and other recreations. He also enjoyed listening to music, playing the guitar, watching movies and Red Sox games with his wife, woodworking, studying his Bible and reading other books.

His heart of gold, that was incomparable to any other, will always be remembered by those who love him. He was a kind and gentle spirit with infectious laughter and a great sense of humor who always knew how to put a smile on the face of all whom he encountered. He was a second grand/father to many of his grand/children’s friends and was always willing to help anyone in need. He was a truly special person who will be missed dearly.

The best of Tony will live on in his beloved wife and best friend of 27 years, Sharon Lea Almeida; his children: Jessica Hogan, Melissa Barkley; Kayla Rose; Joseph, Hannah, and Benjamin Almeida. Their spouses: Nicholas D.; Ronald; Nicholas R.; Abigail; James, and Katelyn, respectively. His father, Robert Almeida; sister, Robin and Michael Gospodarek; and brother, David and Cheryl Almeida, of NH. His grandchildren: Lucas and fiancé Chantel; Rayna; Courtney; Trinity; Aspin; Audrey; Malachi and Zailleigh. As well as many other nieces, nephews, and cousins.

“The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” John 1:5
