A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, January 12, in Saint Anna’s Church in Leominster at 11:00am. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Calling hours will be held in Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Rd., Fitchburg on Saturday morning from 9:00-10:30.
Leominster – Anita (Plouffe) Spadafore, 94, of Leominster died Wednesday, January 9, 2019 peacefully at home with her daughter, special niece and godchild Linda Powers, and close friend MJ Sharrigan.
She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Cormier and her husband Raymond; her grandson, Thomas
Cormier and his wife Tanya and two great grandchildren Kairi and Alphonse; many nieces and nephews.
She was recently predeceased by her granddaughter Renee Browne, her brother Joseph Plouffe and sister-in- law Reggie.
Anita was born March 23, 1924 in Leominster, daughter of the late Harvey and Evelyn Plouffe. She
grew up in Leominster and attended St. Cecilia’s Elementary and St. Bernard’s High School.
Mrs. Spadafore worked many years at the Arrow Shirt Company, Myles Kedex and Foster
Grant, retiring at the age of 62. Anita was a very devoted Catholic at St. Anna’s Parish.
She enjoyed and had many fond memories with her family vacationing in the White Mountains and
Hampton Beach. Anita and her late husband Frank Spadafore enjoyed ballroom dancing, hosting
parties, traveling, and spending time with their grandchildren and family.
Anita was a very fun-loving, thoughtful, kind, generous and giving person that will be sorely missed by
all. Anita’s family would like to extend a special thank you to friends and the staff at the
Summit, and also the wonderful caregivers from Always On Call for their kind loving support during mom’s
final days.
