Waltham – Andre “Andy” Tousignant, 69, formerly of Fitchburg, passed away peacefully on February 22, 2021 at his home in Waltham, Mass.
A 1969 graduate of St. Bernard’s High School, Andy’s life was altered the summer of his graduation due to the first of two traumatic brain injuries he sustained. It was during this time when his family first heard from many people about his quiet acts of kindness. This trait continued throughout the course of his life, despite his many challenges. He continued living life with a loving heart, a generous soul, witty humor, curious intellect and honest speech. He touched the lives of all with whom he came in contact.
The family extends their heartfelt thanks to the caregivers and staff of Riverside Community Care who cared for him for the past 20 years and the staff at the MRC Traumatic Brain Injury Program who were constant and diligent advocates for the past 35 years so he could have the best possible life he could live. The family deeply appreciates the staff at Good Shepherd Hospice for their support and caring assistance to him and the family during this past year.
Andy was predeceased by his parents Edmond J. and Claire C. (Lamoureux) Tousignant.
He is survived by his sisters M. Denise Donnelly of North Carolina, Adele Edelman and husband Steven of Vermont; niece Nicole Spreen (Chad) of Chicago and nephew Owen Donnelly of Chicago.
