Fitchburg – Alreka Luminada Morgan, 78, of Fitchburg, passed away on March 18, 2017.
She leaves her son Dolkeith Lyseight and his wife Paulina; one sister, Vadnicar Livingston; as well as other relatives and friends.
Alreka was born in Jamaica, Parish of St. Catherine, District of Guanaboa Vale Dover on August 15, 1938, daughter of the late George Morgan and Lucil Hudson Morgan.
Always a bright student, Alreka advanced through her early schooling years ahead of the curriculum and her peers. She was very intelligent and loved to learn; she was also a very hard worker. As a young lady, during her high school summer vacations, Alreka would work for the Postal Service, which she enjoyed very much. As her love for the job grew, she diligently worked her way up through the postal rank serving in various positions and eventually becoming the Postmistress in Kingston.
Alreka came to the United States and made her home in New York and later retired in Orlando Florida, until moving to Massachusetts to be closer to family and friends. Her nurturing spirit and love of children lead her to become a baby nurse and nanny for several families. The impact Alreka had on these growing families was so strong, they often kept in touch with her throughout the years.
While living in Jamaica Alreka practiced Catholicism; upon her move to Massachusetts she attended with her daughter in law, the Crossroads Community Church of Fitchburg where eventually she found her spiritual home .
She was an incredible woman, who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
