Alice M. West

On February 19, 2024, Alice M. West, a loving mother, grandmother, and sister, passed away at the age of 78. Born in Moncton, NB, Canada on November 4, 1945, Alice spent her life being a supportive, loyal, and reliable pillar for her family and friends. She made her home in Shirley, Massachusetts after spending some time in Leominster, Mass. She was known for her warmth, compassion, and unwavering love that she extended to every person she met.

Alice spent her professional career as a Key Stamper at a Lock Company, where her dedication and reliability were highly valued. Upon retiring, she filled her days with activities she loved. A member of the Midstate Auto Club Of New England and the Shirley Seniors Center, Alice was an active participant in her community. She was often found working on crossword puzzles and had a love for the casino. She enjoyed dining out with her sister-in-law, and shopping. Her love for volunteering was a testament to her giving nature. Alice was also known for her adventurous spirit, often going on camping trips to Canada, and North Conway with her beloved dog, Lucky.

Above all, Alice cherished her family. She was a devoted mother to her son Ricky West, and doted on her granddaughter, Chyloe West. She shared a special bond with her brothers, Gene LeBlanc and Omer LeBlanc, and her life partner, Joe Gonynor. Alice was preceded in death by her parents, John and Rebecca LeBlanc, her husband, Joseph West, her son, Chris West, her brother, Henry LeBlanc, and her sisters, Claudette LaPoint and Emma LeBlanc. As per the teachings of the Roman Catholic faith, we remember Alice with the verse from Matthew 5:4, "Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted."

Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 25, 2024, at 5:00pm at Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Road, Fitchburg, Massachusetts, 01420.
