OBITUARY
Ashburnham – Alex B. Koroskenyi, 82, of Ashburnham, passed away February 27, 2017 in Heywood Hospital.
Alex was born in the Bronx on May 1, 1934, a son of late Alexius and Yolanda (Mooncasy) Koroskenyi. He was raised in Brooklyn and lived and worked in Manhattan. He managed high rise apartment buildings in New York City. At the age of 26, he became the youngest person to manage an apartment building on the exclusive 5th Avenue in New York City. When Alex was 36, he moved to Westminster, MA.
After moving to Massachusetts he worked for 10 years for the Crocker Technical Papers in Fitchburg. He then started his own business, Champagne Decks, in 1982; he remodeled homes, repairs, etc. The last 20 years, Alex used only word of mouth to advertise his business, and he never officially retired.
He loved herb gardening, water gardening, stamp collecting, and sports-especially bowling. At the age of 25, Alex bowled the only perfect league 300 game at the 86th Street Bowling Center in New York City, which has since been torn down and replaced by a bank.
Alex is survived by his loving wife of 22 years, Carol M. (Nivell) Koroskenyi; three sons, James, Steven, and Thomas Koroskenyi; two daughters, Alexi Koroskenyi and Tira Gilchrest; many grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren, and his first wife Helen Koroskenyi.
He was predeceased by one sister.
