Albert R. Young Jr.

Albert Russell Young (Jigger), 80, a resident of Fitchburg, MA, passed away after a long battle with cancer, his wonderful fiancé, Catherine Houlihan, by his side, along with family members.

He was predeceased by his beautiful wife of 32 years, Carolyn Goodwin, who passed in 1997 and his parents Russell and Mary (Pandiscio) Young. He is survived by his daughters, Kimberly Leary and her partner, Dr. Phil DiSilva, her two children and six grandchildren, Kristine and Jason Boulay and their two sons, and Kathleen and Hipolito Algarin, their son and two grandchildren. Also surviving are his fiancé and best friend, Catherine Houlihan, her two daughters and nine grandchildren, as well as, his sister, Nancy Becker and her daughter.

Al was a graduate of FHS, Mt. Wachusett CC and Fitchburg State University using the GI Bill. As sales manager for two large chemical companies, he was charged with building up accounts in the plastics industry from New England to Eastern Canada.

Al was a long-term member of Oak Hill Country Club and Leominster Sportsman Club for trap and skeet shooting.

Brandon Funeral Home will be handling all of the arrangements. Family and friends will gather to honor and remember Al for a period of visitation on March 17, 2023, from 10:00AM until 12:00PM, at Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Road, Fitchburg, MA 01420. Burial will follow at the Massachusetts Veteran Memorial Cemetery at 1:00PM, 111 Glenallen St, Winchendon, MA 01475.
