In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorial donations be made to the Ashburnham Westminster Foundation for Academic Excellence, c/o the office of the Superintendent of schools, 11 Oakmont Drive, Ashburnham, MA 01430. The funeral Mass will be held in Saint Anthony di Padua Church, 84 Salem St., Fitchburg on Saturday, January 31, at 11:00 AM. Burial will be private at a later date. Calling hours will be held in Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Rd., Fitchburg on Friday, January 30, from 4-7 PM.

Agatha A. (Marabello) Wagg, 75, of Ashburnham, passed away Monday, January 26, in Mass. General Hospital in Boston.
Agatha was born in Fitchburg on January 31, 1939, a daughter of the late Francesco and Maria (Minisi) Marabello. She graduated from Saint Bernard’s High School, where she was the recipient of the Latin Scholar Award. She then graduated Summa Cum Laude from Fitchburg State College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education. Agatha spent her career teaching generations of first grade children at John R. Briggs Elementary School in Ashburnham.
She loved to bake, knit and read. She belonged to a Book Club with several other educators and friends. She loved to travel, especially to the ocean, whether it was to the Cape or Maine for the weekend, or to Aruba with her sisters and dear husband, Ed.
Agatha will always be fondly remembered for her quick wit, and her wonderful sense of humor.
She leaves her husband of 53 years, Edwin Wagg of Ashburnham; her children, Michael Wagg of Gardner, Judith Girouard and her husband, Mark of Westminster, Andrew Wagg of Wheelock, VT, Christy Kimball and her husband, Jason of Westminster; grandchildren, Dylan and Lisa Girouard and Lucy Kimball; siblings, Mary Borg and her husband, Hugh of Fitchburg, Josephine Bilotta and her husband, Herbie of Leominster, Susie Marabello of Leominster, Connie Ojanen and husband, John of VA; sister-in-law, Joyce Marabello of Fitchburg; brother-in-law, Alan Wagg of Provincetown; cousin, Nenay Shultz of Fitchburg; and many nieces, nephews, and close friends.
