Calling hours will be held in Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Rd., Fitchburg on Friday, October 8, from 10am – 12noon. A prayer service will begin at noon. Burial will be held privately,
Ada (Landry) Richard, 102 years old, passed on Monday October 4th peacefully at the Highlands in Fitchburg.
Ada moved to Fitchburg from Amherst Nova Scotia in the mid-1940s. She worked at Comfort Slipper, Anwelt Shoe, Fitchburg Yarn and Burbank Hospital.
She was married to Reginald “Red” Richard (deceased), for sixty-six years and leaves behind her son Paul Richard, God Daughter, special niece, and friend Rose (LeBlanc) Tourigny, nieces and nephews, Lousie (LeBlanc) Leger of Grand Barochois Canada, Emile Landry of Canada, Wayne and Sharron Duffy of Canada, Linda (Richard) Donnelly, Barbara (Pellitier) Rocheleau, Helen (Pellitier) Payton, Janet Cormier as well as many great nieces and nephews.
She now joins her siblings, Thomas Landry, Minny (Landry) Duffy, Ethel Landry and Bernice (Landry) Cormier-LeBlanc.
Ada was loved by all that met her. She was always ready for a good conversation, a laugh or a sing along. Her heart reached out to all and made many friends along her long life. Her friend she had the longest was Flora Cormier of Fitchburg (103 years) they met as children in Canada and stayed friends to the end. Other close friends Cynthia Opaki of Shrewsbury and Micheline and Dave DiConick of Fitchburg.
