I always considered myself "the ultimate" Boston Sports fan. Then I met David Lively in 1986. David took it to another level. He could recall every memory I had of some Boston sports event, and then add some others. The photo of him in tears at the last game in the old Boston Garden said it all. No one could match his passion for the home town teams. That is how I will remember David. I'm sad he missed a great Celtics game 7 win this week, then the team getting the first pick in the draft. I'll miss him and so will Boston.

I am sad to read todays obit in the paper as I have lost another true friend even though we lost touch around 1987.We worked side by side as bartenders at the Union House every Sat. nite for 4 years,we lived together in a rented house in Ashland,we played basketball,we took a train trip to the Spectrum in Philadelphia to watch the Celtics(left @ 6 am,home next day 8 am),went to every playoff game in 1984/86 at the garden as we bought standing room only packages and split up cause it was easier to get a good seat alone but would meet every halftime at the Molson stand and compare seats, only once in about 30 games doing this did we actually sit together(the Henderson stole the ball game).I have photos somewhere of him at these times, please contact me and I can mail them to you.I find it almost ironic that as I write this the C's are ready to take on Cleveland in the Eastern Finals,I'm positive that he is sitting in front of the largest TV in heaven watching.Dave this ones for you:F##k the Lakers.
